An update on our ginger foster brothers (Arthur and Izzy) who had been surrendered to the shelter by their family for financial reasons.
They arrived at our house completely shut down, dehydrated, not wanting to eat, and non-responsive to motions.
The sweet, gentle, but skittish bonded pair have been with us almost three months now, the first of which they spent hiding under our couch. They are now healthy and eating and drinking. They have perfect litter box manners. And they have become very friendly with Adam. They rub all over his legs. They accept pets and being picked up. They play with him when he wiggles the feather toys–and they wrestle each other. One of them is a sucker for churu.
They have even made a new friend in our resident cat Frosty. They play chase with him, and sometimes Arthur, the braver boy, comes to the top of the stairs and puts his paws under the door to ask if Frosty can come out and play.
Though these gingers are still so so very timid–and terrified of me because they don’t see me very often–they are enjoying their lives again. And we think they are ready to find a forever home together with someone who can be patient with them. They are only two years old, well-mannered and beautiful. They will make their new family very happy. So if you know someone who might be looking…
